30 Times

Yes.30 times the House Republicans have voted to repeal Obama care and not once for the job creation bill.Voted against getting health insurance if you have preexisting conditions. Voted against adult children allowed onto their parents insurance until age 26.  Voted against reduced priced reduced prescriptions for Seniors. Voted against women. and kept their own Cadillac Insurance policies!!  Voted against cost reducing insurance for everyone and provided no alternative policy!
So, here is my proposal:  If you vote against Obama care why not be consistent and vote against Medicare also?  There are too many people in the world, we all know that.  The sick, the frail, the weak and the poor are deficits to society.  They drag us down and contribute nothing.  Maybe Hitler had it right, round them up and get rid of them!  People struggling with minimum wage jobs, working hard and complaining?  Throw them on the wagon too!  What is the Republican plan?
Frankly I am in favor of Obama care because I am a conservative!!!  It was an idea initially started by the Republicans and implemented by Romney himself in Massachusetts and contains the thought that if we all contributed then medical care would be less expensive.  Obama care will SAVE a trillion dollars over the next ten years.  There are government subsidies for those who cannot afford the cost.
As it is now emergency rooms are used as the primary care for poor people.  This can cost thousand's per visit and we are paying for it now.  What is the Republican Plan to improve this situation?  Maybe all people who visit the emergency room who don't really need it should be shot?  I rather like that idea and it would create more jobs!
50% of Americans don't even know about the Supreme Court decision on health care.  Probably 80% don't give a crap.  Pretty sad for a country that spends trillions of dollars fighting for freedom (?) and we don't even follow what is going on, don't give a crap.  More interested in sound bites than understanding.
The Republicans will do NOTHING to make Obama look good, certainly no infrastructure rebuilding, certainly no jobs bill and they won't even entertain their OWN idea on National Health!
I wonder what will happen?  How we will vote next November?  More years of the failed Bush policy?
A Nation lead by its Corporations?  Oh boy!  We will get what we vote for, what we deserve, that is for sure.  Cutting government programs and austerity?  Yes, let's be like Greece!!!  Or Ireland or Portugal or Spain!  They will show us the way!  I am amazed how easily we are persuaded to vote against our own interests, how easily we can be led and how lazy we have become.

Chicken in Every Pot!

All right, I did watch the Republican Debate in Arizona.  I just needed a few days to go by in order to digest it without throwing up.  Clearly no one is worth a damn and the Republicans are scrambling, there is even talk of no one single candidate having enough delegates to win the convention.  They might throw all the bums out and pick someone new!

I think it could be me!  Newt is promising $2.50 a gallon gasoline, like it is his and he can just reduce the price!  Mine will be $1.75.  That is right.  Vote for ME and I will sell you all the gas I own for a mere $1.75 a gallon!

You can watch one of these debates and it doesn't take long to realize that there are problems in a Representative Democracy.  No one is really after what is best for the USA, it is all about Special Interest, like five fat guys on a committee to determine woman's rights!  I love it.

I still think the best way would be everytime they vote for more money, say for the Olympics or that bridge to nowhere, they should just send us the bill.  Then we would really know what something cost.
There is a cost to everything.  We want to put pressure on Iran (think Persia!) to stop their nuclear efforts and they stop exporting oil.  Duh! Who didn't think of that?  As long as oil is the prize the world will be what it is.  We will fight for it and people will die for it.  More drilling won't help; it all gets sold to the highest bidder where ever it comes from.

I think Santorum might be a great President of Iran or some other therocrocy where the religion of the day prevails and heretics are stoned to death or burnt at the stake.  I have a fear of people who think they are so right.  I wouldn't mind Ron Paul controlling the purse strings.  I think he might have every dime he has ever made.  But his isolatioism in this modern world is a little scary top me.  In think there are bad guys out there.

The truth is I don't know whether things are getting better or not.  Everybody lies about everything,
that seems to be the only reality.  Obama says there "is no silver bullet" and I suspect he is telling the truth.  It is not what we want to  hear.  We want to be kissed on the forehead and tucked in at night and told all will be fine.  Deep down inside we really want cheap gasoline but I wonder what the cost would be?

Maybe the Republicans couldn't come up with a better candidate because, well...they...are..
Republicans!  They are after a different time, a time in the past.  Yes, vote for me (and send me money!), I'll make it all perfect!

Two America's

John Edwards couldn't keep his pecker in his pants and that, plus he was an idiot, led to his demise, but I agree with him on one point.  There are two America's.  It was interesting watching the Republican Debates last night.  Both the Republican contenders and their Democratic rivals are extremely wealthy Americans. There is really no body representing me in our government.
I wonder when was the last time any of these people went to the grocery store?  or actually wrote a check to pay for their utility bill?  I don't think they realize what is going on here at home, let alone the rest of the world and international affairs.
About all that was accomplished, from my perspective, was the installation of a great deal of fear.  It seems that everyone is out to get us and someone will get a nuke into a suitcase and visit one of our major cities?
This modern day in Eden is a very dangerous place!  I wonder how much of this is really true?
The problem with "truth" is that everyone owns a little snippet of it and no one tells the whole story.  Truth is told from a perspective to substantiate a lie.  Our aid to Africa (a whole continent, fellas, not one country!) does make very bad people very rich.  That is true.  It also helps saves millions of lives and makes us look good, and that is true too.  We have run out of money and that is true too.
It is a dilemma.  What to do?  Where to go from here?
There was a lot of talk about "The Patriot Act".  What a bullshit title that is!!!  I mean, really!  Who could be against that?  It sounds unpatriotic to be against it.  What a clever name!  We could call Guantanamo a
"reeducation center" like the Chinese might or a lover's convention and maybe get more support for it?
For over 300 years we have led by example.  We were the envy, the hope and inspiration for others.
Our shinning example is becoming tarnished.
We know "things are not right".  We just do not know exactly what the problem is and it makes it all the more difficult when politicians lie and distort the truth.  What is a person supposed to believe?
I think maybe getting our own house in order might be a good beginning.  We have plenty of mess and things to do right here at home.  We have a long way to go to become that shining example again.
Two America's?  I just read that our football coach (go Ducks!), now retired on State supported, tax payers funded PERS account receives 42,000 Dollars a MONTH in retirement!!!  That is a cool Half Million a year in Tax payer's money!  Under the Democratic Proposal to raise taxes 3% on money after the 1st million dollars, he would still be safe!
And what happens if we do nothing?  Choose to not become involved?  There are laws in place for that too.  The "Bush Tax Cuts" are set to expire next year.  That means that the "wealthy" will pay more anyway and so will we.  In order to pass these cuts in the first place we were bribed with about $300 in tax cuts for the average American family.  $300 in savings for us and over a Trillion for the rich guys.  Such a deal!
The Super Committee failure will automatically kick in a law to reduce the budget on the backs of the middle class, from Social Security and Medicare and take a half Trillion dollars from the military.
If we can't govern ourselves how can we be expected to contribute to the World?  We are not a shining example even to ourselves.
